Summary
This thesis details the design, fabrication, and experimental testing of a simple and low-cost U-bent hollow-core fiber (SMF-UHCF-SMF) magnetic field sensor that utilizes the tunable refractive index of magnetic fluid to achieve simultaneous measurement of magnetic field strength and temperature by observing changes in its transmission spectrum. The research explores the sensor's sensitivity to both magnetic fields (achieving a maximum sensitivity of 1.0898 nm/mT) and temperature (with a maximum sensitivity of 0.324 nm/°C), and investigates the influence of the hollow-core fiber's core diameter, length, and the U-bend diameter on the sensor's performance to determine optimal parameters.
