Summary

This article presents a newly designed miniature double focusing mass spectrograph intended for future lunar or planetary exploration. The ion optical system, based on Mattauch-Herzog geometry, utilizes a focal plane detector comprised of a microchannel plate (MCP), a phosphor layer, a fiber-optic plate, and a charge-coupled device (CCD). The mass spectrograph demonstrated a mass resolution of 130, consistent with simulations. The instrument successfully detected stable isotopes of krypton (Kr) and neon (Ne) without detector saturation, achieving a dynamic range of 300.
